Visit Mellanox at the Intel Developer Forum (September 26-28, 2006)
Mellanox Technologies will be exhibiting and showcasing demos in two booths at the Intel Developer Forum.
At Mellanox Booth #628 in the Interconnect Community
Mellanox will demonstrate VMware ESX 3.0 running over InfiniBand. InfiniBand’s high performance networking and SAN capabilities are made available to ESX virtual machines in a seamless way such that applications running in virtual machines can enjoy the benefits of a higher performance and consolidated I/O without any changes and without needing any additional qualification.
Mellanox will showcase 10X SAN performance (up to 1.5GB/s) from ESX virtual machines, using Intel Woodcrest processor based platforms. This can lead to significantly increased SAN performance per virtual machine or same level of performance as FC per virtual machine, but significantly more virtual machines per physical server. Mellanox will also showcase VMotion (virtual machine migration) over consolidated I/O (with networking and storage), and transparent virtual infrastructure management using VMware Virtual Center. All of the above reduces power and overall costs significantly, while increasing I/O and server utilization.
At Mellanox Booth #319 in the IHV Optimization Community
Mellanox will demonstrate Wolfram's gridMathematica running on Mellanox "InfiniBand Accelerated" hardware. The demo shows the complete possible evolutionary network for idealized metabolic pathways. The networks are computed in parallel on a grid using gridMathematica and then visualized with built-in Mathematica graph functionality.
OpenFabrics Alliance - 2006 OpenFabrics Joint Developer's Conference, September 25, 2006
The InfiniBand Trade Association (IBTA) and Open Fabrics Alliance (OFA) will hold a joint developers conference on September 25 at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco in co-location with the Fall 2006 Intel Developer Forum (IDF). These two organizations continue to drive industry-standard solutions to the market based on InfiniBand interconnect technology and a common software stack. The conference will bring these organizations together, along with application developers, systems vendors, hardware and software solution providers and end users of the technology.
