Mellanox and Intalio Win Gold Award in the “Cloud Computing Technologies” Category at the Best of VMworld 2009 Awards
Joint Solution Enables Unified Cloud Networking for Compute and Storage, While Maximizing Cloud Efficiency and Reducing Total Cost of Operations
VMWORLD 2009, SAN FRANCISCO, CA – September 3, 2009 – Mellanox® Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX; TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage, and Intalio, Inc., the Enterprise Cloud Company, today announced that the Intalio|Cloud Appliance, accelerated by Mellanox 40Gb/s InfiniBand, has received a Best of VMworld 2009 award in the Cloud Computing Technologies category. An independent team of judges consisting of experts and editors from SearchServerVirtualization.com reviewed and evaluated the products according to innovation, value, performance, reliability and ease of use.
The Intalio|Cloud Appliance integrates in a single rack all the hardware and software required for building a true enterprise-class private cloud computing platform. The hardware consists of Mellanox 40Gb/s InfiniBand interconnect technology, HP BladeSystem blade servers and enclosures and Solid State Drives (SSD) for all database storage. Utilizing InfiniBand, the Intalio|Cloud Appliance benefits from a unified networking fabric and removes the need for deploying and managing multiple networking technologies, such as Ethernet and Fibre Channel. This reduces networking hardware acquisition costs by up to 50% and network management costs by up to 30%, while boosting performance.
“By meeting the performance, efficiency, scalability and quality of service needs of the most demanding customer and applications, the Intalio|Cloud Appliance, accelerated by Mellanox 40Gb/s InfiniBand, is ideally suited for a broad array of cloud services," said Ismael Chang Ghalimi, CEO of Intalio. “We are pleased to have our joint solution named as one of the ‘Best of VMworld 2009’.”
“The Intalio|Cloud Appliance, accelerated by Mellanox 40Gb/s InfiniBand, reduces hardware acquisition costs dramatically while improving cloud services delivery through significantly higher application scalability and performance,” said John Monson, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “It is an honor to be named as one of the ‘Best of VMworld 2009’.”
The Intalio|Cloud Appliance is being demonstrated at the Mellanox booth (#2220) at VMworld in San Francisco, August 31-September 3, 2009.
