Mellanox Introduces 40Gb/s InfiniBand Products for New HP ProLiant G6 Server Blades
Mellanox 40Gb/s InfiniBand Products Paired with Intel® Xeon® Processor 5500 Series Provide IT Managers the Solution for Building Green and Effective Data Centers
SUNNYVALE, Calif. and YOKNEAM, ISRAEL – March 30, 2009 – Mellanox® Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX; TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of end-to-end connectivity solutions for data center servers and storage, today announced that its leading 40Gb/s InfiniBand ConnectX® adapter and InfiniScale® IV-based blade switch have been integrated across the new line of HP ProLiant G6 server blades for the HP BladeSystem c-Class platform. The new HP ProLiant G6 server blades incorporate Intel’s recently announced Xeon® Processor 5500 Series (formerly codenamed “Nehalem”), fueling the need for InfiniBand’s industry-leading CPU utilization and bandwidth capabilities. According to Gartner*, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for blade server shipments from 2008 through 2013 is forecasted to be 20.8% and to reach more than 2.5 million units in 2013, representing the fastest-growing server form factor over the next five years.
