PhyX - High-density, multi-protocol 10GbE PHY


Growing 10 Gigabit Ethernet deployments in the data center is driving the demand for high-density 10 Gigabit Ethernet switches. PhyX, the industry’s first 6-port PHY, enables OEMs and system designers to build high density platforms – fewer components, less real-estate and higher flexibility. PhyX is the only PHY device that delivers all of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet physical layers in a single device. Each port can be configured to support XAUI , XFI, SFI or 10GBASE-KR, providing system designers the flexibility to consolidate their designs on a single silicon device.

FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet) is gaining market momentum to deliver I/O consolidation over 10 Gigabit Ethernet. FCoE gateways are quickly being designed to enable connectivity from the existing Fibre Channel infrastructure to FCoE-based servers. PhyX is the industry’s only PHY that can be field-upgraded to FCoE gateway functionality.
