Mellanox has established a Quality Management System that provides a management framework spanning all activities -- from product development to high volume manufacturing -- through which Mellanox achieves its goals of high product quality, highest customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement in all aspects of company business. At Mellanox we believe that good quality also results in lower costs.
To ensure the best quality, reliability and interoperability of its products, Mellanox maintains a most advanced and comprehensive testing environment, including in-house testing labs. This environment enables running real applications and verifying their “endtoend’ performance, and thus guarantees that Mellanox delivers most reliable and compatible products.
Mellanox employs a three-pronged approach in devising and administering continuous improvement activities:
- Leveraging on first-tier vendors’ systems
By using mature mainstream manufacturing processes, Mellanox achieves lower defect densities and better process quality and reliability.
- Proactive internal quality control
Mellanox tracks key performance and quality parameters to monitor and alert for deviations from healthy behavior. Moreover, all changes are closely monitored and approved through a special Change Control Board (CCB) to ensure no impact on quality.
Mellanox also runs a well-defined Supplier Management process, which includes the identification and selection of suppliers with the capability to meet Mellanox needs and requirements. The process also determines the criteria for selection, evaluation and qualification of suppliers.
- Reactive damage containment, recovery and root-cause identification
Mellanox implements Customer Corrective Action Report (CCAR) procedures and conducts postmortem activities for completed projects and discovered issues.
Mellanox incorporates principles of customer-perceived quality as part of Mellanox's quality system by learning customer quality and reliability expectations. Moreover, upon customer line fallouts, data is collected and analyzed in order to implement/suggest corrective and preventive actions. Changes to our products are communicated to customers through Product Change Notifications (PCNs). Various reports of characterization, reliability tests, and qualification are available to our customers.
Customer satisfaction is measured throughout key performance parameters, interaction with customers, and annual customer surveys.
The maturity of Mellanox products is characterized by a comprehensive qualification matrix of three levels that correlates to manufacturing volumes. These qualification levels are based on system validation confidence level, production test coverage, device characterization, and exhaustive reliability testing.
Mellanox IC devices are designed and tested for reliability in accordance to JEDEC standards. IC life-time and MTBF predictions are performed for hardware failures (e.g., HTOL and Temp Cycle) and for soft error rates (of the single device and in large clusters).
Mellanox systems are designed and tested for reliability in accordance to IPC standards. Reliability demonstration tests such as DVT, EVT, HALT, and HASS, are performed to predict product performance, robustness, life-time and MTBF.
Mellanox Technologies has an integrated history of environmental commitment and continues to advance its environmental policy. All of Mellanox's manufacturing partners are ISO 14001 certified.
Mellanox is committed to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and to ensure that its products are under the following directives:

- Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)

Conflict Minerals Policy Statement
Mellanox Technologies, Inc. and Mellanox Technologies, Ltd (collectively, "Mellanox") are committed to the highest standards, whether measured by the quality of our products, the quality of our services, or the way in which we conduct our business. We manage our business with integrity, and we work with our suppliers, vendors and contractors to ensure the working conditions in our supply chain are safe, affected workers are treated with respect and dignity, and applicable production processes are environmentally and socially responsible.
In order to ensure our relationship with suppliers/vendors meets and supports these expectations, Mellanox strongly encourages its suppliers to acknowledge and support this Business Code of Conduct (the "Code"). Mellanox's process for selecting qualified suppliers, vendors and contractors will take into consideration suppliers, etc., that are managed in a socially and environmentally responsible manner consistent with the provisions with this Code.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC") has adopted rules requiring publicly traded companies to disclose whether they use tantalum, tin, gold or tungsten that originated in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (the "DRC") or neighboring countries and, if so, to issue a report identifying their products that are not conflict free and their due diligence efforts to determine the source and chain of custody of the metals, relaying on sources like: industry initiatives, the Conflict Free Smelter Program ("CFS"), to validate the smelter list.
Mellanox does not procure metals directly and only a fraction of the world's minerals produce originates from the DRC, but we are taking action to increase transparency, ensure responsible procurement by our suppliers and sub-suppliers, and drive positive change. Mellanox is committed to source its raw materials, components and parts from suppliers that respect human rights, integrity and environmental regulations
Nevertheless, Mellanox is committed to complying with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act, which aims to prevent the use of minerals that use of which directly or indirectly helps to finance or benefit armed groups in the DRC or in neighboring countries ("conflict minerals").
Mellanox strives to be a "conflict minerals free" company and is taking the required measures to review and check the processes throughout its supply chain to ensure its products are and remain free of conflcit minerals. Mellanox requires that suppliers whose products contain tantalum, tin, gold or tungsten to provide written evidence of due diligence (EICC-GeSI Conflict Minerals template) that traces these minerals back through their supply chain, and to confirm their source is not from the conflict region - DRC.
Mellanox expects suppliers to take similar measures with their suppliers to ensure compliance throughout the supply chain of these "conflict minerals" used in their parts/components/material. Mellanox has incorporated the principles of the conflict minerals requirements into its business practices, and our new suppliers approval process was adjusted to include a conflict minerals check.
Mellanox will communicate this policy to its suppliers and encourage them to set similar policies for their supply chain.
Suppliers that will not adhere to conflict minerals regulations will be considered as "risk source of supply", and may be eliminated from future business opportunities with Mellanox.
WEEE Directive (2002/96/EC)
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) applies to companies that manufacture, sell, distribute, recycle or treat electrical and electronic equipment to consumers in the European Union (EU). It covers all large and small household appliances, IT equipment, radio and audio equipment, electrical tools and telecommunications equipment. The directive aims to reduce the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment and to improve the environmental performance of all those involved in the life cycle of these products.
WEEE Recycling/Disposal Instructions
Mellanox products are within the WEEE directive under B2B IT and telecommunications equipment category. The Wheelie Bin symbol found on the product or in the owners manual indicates that this product must not be disposed of with other waste.
