Mellanox fast interconnect solutions for virtualized data centers enables native performance, achieving 37.6Gb/s of throughput over ESXi 5.1

VMworld 2012, San Francisco, CA – August 28, 2012 – Mellanox® Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX; TASE: MLNX), a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today announced that its end-to-end 40GbE solution running over VMware ESXi 5.1 enables a new price/performance record for virtualized data centers. Benchmark results achieved a sustainable rate of more than 37Gb/s of throughput using servers equipped with Mellanox’s ConnectX®-3 40GbE NICs connected by SwitchX® 40GbE switches and the company’s high performance QSFP cables.

With record performance, Mellanox’s 40GbE solutions eliminate server-to-storage bottlenecks and enable virtualized data centers to increase their operational efficiency and maximize the return-on-investment. The solution maximizes the number of Virtual Machines (VMs) running on each server and reduces data center capital and operation expenses. It also simplifies the deployment and helps IT managers to meet their performance goals at a much lower total cost of ownership. These performance results were achieved using the new VMware ESXi 5.1.
