The new HP ProLiant G6 server blades incorporate Intel’s recently announced Xeon® Processor 5500 Series (formerly codenamed “Nehalem”), fueling the need for InfiniBand’s industry-leading CPU utilization and bandwidth capabilities. According to Gartner*, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for blade server shipments from 2008 through 2013 is forecasted to be 20.8% and to reach more than 2.5 million units in 2013, representing the fastest-growing server form factor over the next five years.
